Subtitles
I see in app config (version 2.0.0.4), an option for subtitles (always on).
For me, the subs function didn't work.
The subtitle button is there when vídeo plays, but it is "untouchable", with no action.

***I use the ".srt" subtitle files. My Windows 8.1 is the Pro version without media center.

What can I do to make my subs work?

BTW, I have one sugestion: in app configs page, about the subtitles config, it would be nice if i could choose the subs format and structure, like fanart configs.

I apreciate your help. Thanks.

RE: Subtitles
The name of the srt file must be identical to the movie file name.

Can you confirm this and let us know if that fixes it.

Thank you

RE: Subtitles
Yes! Using identical names, like I've used in years!!

Ex:
Video --- "movie name.avi"
Subs --- "movie name.srt"

Thanks

RE: Subtitles
Got them. We found the issue and this is probably the same issue others have reported with some subtitle files. The new MS video player only supports VTT subtitle formats, so behind the scenes we convert the SRT files to VTT.

When we do this we were using the MS file method to read all the file lines at once before we convert them to VTT. There is a bug in this method with certain unicode characters. We have changed the code to remove that MS method and read each line one at a time to process the file. When we do this - the subtitle file you sent works fine.

We will get this worked into an upcoming update.

Thank you

RE: Subtitles
Today I receive a update, hoping changes in some issue with the subtitle, but nothing.
Then I remember that I needed to contact you about the subject since the implementation of the resource of the subs...

The thing is, some common latin language characters do not appear correctly, being replaced in subtitles by the sign "<?>". The problem is that it affects multiple languages, such as Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian and many other languages that use special characters (examples, á-à-ç-õ-ñ-é-è-ê-ë-ô-ö-ü ...), and these symbols are very very VERY recurrent in these languages.

Can you fix this?
Thank you.

RE: Subtitles
Sure - can you send us a sample file and point out the exact time in the movie you see the odd characters.

Thank you
